Sen. Feinstein Speaks Out on Cosmetics Inspections

US Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) penned a letter to the editor of The New York Times regarding its Aug. 3 article on FDA inspection of imported cosmetic products. In the letter, Feinstein called out the “old and woefully inadequate” laws “governing the safety of chemicals in consumer products.” According to Feinstein, the bipartisan Personal Care Products Safety Act, “would be the best solution” and she urged Congress to “act on the bill as soon as possible.” Her letter stemmed from the ...
